Annapurna Circuit Trek – Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 01: Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) and transfer to hotel and free preparation.

Arrival in Kathmandu 1400 meters, we will pick you up from the international airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending what time your flight schedule. If you arrive in the morning, then you have whole day free to explore the Kathmandu and preparation for the trekking next day.

Altitude: 1,300 M Kathmandu

Drive distance: airport to Hotel Thamel 5-6 km.

Accommodations: BB plan hotel in Kathmandu

Side trip: Thamel bazar and around the city.

Day 02 : Drive to Dharapani (1963 meters) and stay overnight.

Drive through beautiful hills and riverside roads to directly Dharapani by privet jeep.

Altitude: 1,960M Dharapani village

Time duration: 9–10-hour drive to Dharapani village

Drive distance: approximately 223km from Kathmandu to Dharapani

Elevation gain: 640m altitude gain from Kathmandu

Trails difficulty: Smooth and off-road drive.

Food: Basic food available on the way like Dal-Bhat

Accommodations: Tea – house with sharing basis

Day 03 : Trek to Chame village (2670 meters).

Walk through pine forests, waterfalls, and small villages. Best view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.

Altitude: 2,670m Chame village

Time duration: 5-6 hours Trek, depends on your paces

Distance: 14km Dharapani to Chame village

Elevation gain: 710m altitude gain from Dharapani

Trails difficulty: Easy- almost the trails on roadway.

Food: Basic food available in the guest house.

Distance: 14.5km from Chame cillage to Upper Pidang.

Elevation gain: 640m altitude gain from Chame village

Trails difficulty: Easy to Moderate to Pisang trek

Day 05 : Trek to Manang (3540 meters).

You are enter the dry Himalayan landscape. Beautiful views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna & Tilicho Peak and many long Himalayan ranges with passing besutiful villages.

Altitude: 3,540m at Manang village

Time duration: 8 & + hours upper trail to Manang.

Distance: 17km, upper trail passing through Ngawal

Elevation gain: 230m altitude gain from Upper Pisang

Trails difficulty: Challenging and long trekking day.

Accommodations: Comfortable guest house in Manang.

Highlights of the day:

  • Wonderful panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, Gangapurna, Manaslu and ranges.
  • Ghyaru (3660 m) and Ngawal is the best viewpoint in upper part.
  • Wonderful views of the valley down Humde airport and pine forest.

Extra tips for the day:

  • This is today, find a good hotel for 2 to 3 nights as your itinerary and stay in Manang.
  • Start your trek from Upper Pisang for the sunrise view in the mountain, it makes golden colors.
  • Take the upper route, it is challenging but you will have wonderful mountain views.
  • Walk slowly and drink plenty water to avoid altitude sickness.
  • Spend a bit time in Ngawal for wonderful views.

Day 06 : Explore day in Manang (3540 meter).

  • Hike to Gangapurna Lake it is the nice place to hike near from Manang.
  • Hike to 100 monasteries for the Acclimatization.
  • Discover Manang village with local’s activities.
  • There are Informational meeting about altitude sickness, attend on it, for more information.

This is the day of rest and easy day after long walking yesterday. For your stamina do above activities in Manang and stay in Manang overnight.

Day 07: Hike to Ice Lake (4650 meter).

Altitude: 4,650m is the elevation of Ice Lake.

Time duration: 7-9 hours round hike from Manang.

Trek distance: Approximately 13km round trip from Manang.

Elevation gain: About 1,100m ascend to Ice Lake.

Trails difficulty: Most challenging to ascent Ice Lake

Food: Only pack lunch and, No tea houses on the way.

Highlights of the day:

  • Ice Lake 4650 meters.
  • Panoramic views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and Tilicho mountain ranges.

Day 08 : Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050 meters / 13,287 feet)

Trekking distance: 9km from Manang village.

Elevation gain: 510m altitude gain from Manang

Food: Guest houses on the way to Yak-kharka

Day 10 : Trek to Muktinath (3,800 meters) via Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters)

Visit Muktinath Temple, a sacred Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site.

Altitude: 3,800m Muktinath village via Thorong La pass

Time duration: 8 – 10 hours from Throng Phedi

Distance: 16.5km from Throng Phedi to Muktinath

Elevation gain: Ascend about 900m & 1600m descending.

Trails difficulty: Most challenging & main goal of the trek

Accommodations: basic to comfortable guest house.

Some tips to success your journey to Throng-la:

  • Please flow the flowing step for successful trek over Throng-la pass.
  • This day is tough but incredibly worthwhile with mesmerizing views and a deep cultural experience at Muktinath.
  • This morning Start your trek early (around 3-4 am) to avoid strong winds at Thorong La Pass and beautiful morning views from the top.
  • It is freezing in the morning, so wear proper layer to avoid coldness.
  • There are no tea houses between high camp and Muktinath Phedi, in the top only tea and coffee available, so would be great to have enough water and snacks with you.
  • If you are feeling easy to use walking pols, then use it.
  • To avoid altitude sickness, walk slowly and smoothly.

Day 11 : Drive to Tatopani (1190 meters).

Drive Descend into the Mustang region, famous for its dry landscape and apple gardens. Enjoy dramatic views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri during your journey.
Relax in Hot spring.

Altitude: 1,190m Tatopani, Myagdi

Time duration: 4–5-hour drive by jeep.

Distance: 65km from Muktinath to Tatopani

Day 12 : Drive to Pokhara (810 meters).

Altitude: 810m beautiful Pokhara city.
