Day-by-Day Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding 2,610 m / 8,563 ft.
Flight Time: 25 – 30 mins from Kathmandu.
Altitude: 2,610 m / 8,563 ft. Phakding,
Time duration: 3 – 4 hours.
Distance: 7km.
Elevation gain: 1210m from Kathmandu.
Trails difficulty: Easy trails from Lukla.
Food and Drinks: Available in tea-houses during the trails.
Accommodations: Basic to Comfortable tea houses available.
Route: Kathmandu to Lukla flight – Chaurikharka – Cheplung – Thadakoshi – Ghat village and – Phakding village.
Your journey start with one of the worlds dangerous airports Lukla flight, with beautiful views of the mountains. After landing Lukla, the small city, where you can buy lots of trekking stuff. Lots of guest houses basic to comfortable, stop for the breakfast and meet with porter then start trekking to Phakding. About 7km distance and 3-4 hours, easy trails with wonderful nature will bring you to the today’s destination Phakding. Here available basic to comfortable guest houses, stay overnight.
Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11,286 ft.
Altitude: 3,440 m / 11,286 ft, Namche.
Distance: 11 – 12km.
Time duration: 6-7 hour trekking.
Elevation gain: 830m, from Phakding.
Trails difficulty: Moderate Gradually ascend.
Food and Drinks: Stops in the tea-houses available.
Accommodations: basic to comfortable Tea houses.
Highlights of the day:
Dudhkoshi valley and suspension bridges.
Manjo, where entering Sagarmatha national park.
Some wildlife on the cliff side.
Hilary bridge and buggy-jump.

Route: Phakding -Zamfute -Toktok – Bengker – Manjo – Jorsale – Larja Dhovan and – Namche Bazar.
Another adventure day start from Phakding, crossing several suspension bridges and ascent through beautiful pine forest. Today about 12 km distance with 6-7 hours, passing beautiful villages, entering world heritage site Sagarmatha national park, Hilarry bridge, first view of top of the world with others mountains range and reaching a famous Namche village makes today’s trek special, stay overnight.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day in Namche 3,440 m / 11,286 ft.
Altitude: 3880 m, Everest view hotel.
Distance: 13.5 km, round trip,
Time duration: 5 – 6 hours.
Elevation gain: 440 m, good hiking place.
Trails difficulty: Easy to climb to view point and back.
Food and Drinks: Basic choose from Menu in tea house.
Accommodations: Tea-houses/ Guest house.

This is the hiking, Acclimatization and exploring day in Namche village. After breakfast hike to Everest view hotel. There are so many different activities you can do in Namche and Khumjung valley. A panoramic views of the mountain ranges, great experience of Khumjung Monastery, Namche museum and activities are the main highlights of the day.
Day 4: Namche to Tengboche 3,860 m / 12,664 ft.
Altitude: 3860m Tengboche and 3820m Diboche.
Distance: 10km.
Time duration: About 5-7 hours.
Elevation gain: 420m from Namche.
Trails difficulty: Moderate trails.
Food and Drinks: Choose from Menu in Tea house.

Start trekking trails gradually flat from Namche to Kyanjuma with panoramic view of the mountain ranges and valley, flora and fauna. After then trails goes down to Phunkitanga, where you take a lunch. Remember from this place there are no tea-shop before Tengboche. About 10km distance, take 5-6 hours depending on your pace. After lunch, steep ascending bring you to wide valley on top of the Hill with wonderful views and beautiful Tengboche monastery a spiritual heart of the Khumbu region.
Day 5: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche 4,410 m / 14,469 ft.
Altitude: 4410m Dingboche village.
Distance: 11km from Tenboche.
Time duration: 5-7 hours, depending on your paces.
Elevation gain: 590m from Diboche.
Trails difficulty: Easy trails but altitude make it challenging.
Food and Drinks: Basic choice from Menu.
Accommodations: basic to Comfortable Tea-houses.

Beautiful rhododendron forest.
Pangboche village – Somore village.
Alpine flora and fauna.

Trails route: Tengboche – Diboche – Pangboche – Somore – Dingboche. village.
A beautiful valley passing through, wonderful Amadablam mountain just front. Passing Pangboche village – Somare and Dingboche is slide ascent to the Somare lunch and easy way to Dingboche. About 11km distance take 5-6 hours, through rhododendron forest, surrounding by dramatic alpines views make your another day beautiful.
Day 6: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche 4,410 m / 14,469 ft.
Today is another acclimatization day in Dingboche. Hike to Nagarjun (5100m) viewpoint for good acclimatizaite and wonderful panoramic views of the mountains ranges and valley down. Dingboche is big village with several basic to comfortable guest houses with local lifestyle, discover it and test it, this is great chance to experience in lifetime. Stay overnight in Dingboche.
Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche 4,910 m / 16,107 ft.
Slight climbing high altitude above the Pheriche valley. Thukla pass is challenging for the day with wonderful views.
Trails route: Dingboche – Tukla – Thukla pass – Loboche.
Altitude: 4910m Lobuche village.
Distance: 9km, from Dingboche.
Time duration: 5-6 hours.
Elevation gain: 500m, from Dingboche.
Trails difficulty: Challenging Thukla pass.
Food and Drinks: Stops in Thukla for lunch.
Accommodations: Basic Tea-houses.

Wonderful views of the mountain valley.
Lobuche peak, Taboche, Cholatche, and Nupse mountains ranges.
Challenging Thukla pass and valleys.
Trails route: Dingboche – Thukla – Thukla Pass (4830m) – Lobuche.
Slight climbing high altitude above the Pheriche valley. Thukla pass is challenging for the day with wonderful views. About 9km distance, 5hours time duration take you to the wide valley towards Everest glacier. Beautiful view of Amadablam-Cholatse- Tabuche peak- Lobuche peak – Nuptse just front of you and special for the day highlights.
Note: we are already in the alpine zone, so it might suffer from the altitude sickness, use proper gear to avoid altitude sickness.
Day 8: Lobuche to Gorakshep, and hike to Everest Base Camp
Altitude: 5164m, Gorakshep.
Distance: 5km from Lobuche.
Time duration: About 3 hours.
Elevation gain: 254m,from Lobuche.
Trails difficulty: Altitude challenging.
Food and Drinks: Chose from basic Menu.
Accommodations: Basic Tea – Houses

Lobuche pass with panoramic mountain views.
Gorakshep, Last settlement in the Everest Base camp trek.
Hiking to most popular destination EBC.
Today you are heading to the Gorakshep and the most dream destination the Everest base camp (5360m). Lobuche – Lobuche pass – Gorakshep: one of the best highlight of the trek, to Stay at Gorakshep and hiking to Everest Base camp. Enjoy the day with wonderful experience in the Himalaya. About 5km distance to Gorakshep from Lobuche and 5.5km to EBC round trip from Gorakshep is another adventure dream destination and great achievement to reaching EBC the dream destination.
Day 9: Hike for Sunrise at Kala Patthar (5550m), and Descend to Pheriche.
Distance: 13 km, Gorakshep – Kalapathar – Pheriche.
Time duration: 6 – 7 hours from Gorakshep.
Trails difficulty: Easy way back to Pheriche.
Food and Drinks: Choose from Menu.
Accommodations: Tea-houses.
Highlights of the day:
Hiking to Kalapathar 5550m.
Wonderful views from Kalapathar.
Last views for this time of EBC.
Early in the morning hike to Kalapathar 5550m for the wonderful views with sunrise directly to the Mt. Everest, and after that back to Gorakshep, breakfast and easy way back to Pheriche, with great experience to making success Kalapathar and Everest base camp without any bother, stay Pheriche.
Day 10: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11,286 ft.
Distance/ Time duration: 20km, 6 -7 hours
Elevation loss: 931m from Pheriche.
Trails difficulty: Easy descending but long distance.
Food and Drinks: Choose from Menu.
Accommodations: Comfortable Tea -houses.
Pheriche – Somare – Pangboche – Diboche – Tengboche – Namche. It is easy way back to Namche but long distance. The views are amazing surrounding by. Leaving a footprints and taking memory saying bye bye Everest view until next trip.
Day 11: Namche to Lukla 2,860 m / 9,383 ft.
- Distance: 17 – 18km from Namche.
- Time duration: 7 – 8 hours trek.
- Trails difficulty: Moderate descend with ups and down.
- Food and Drinks: Basic choice from Menu.
- Accommodations: Basic to comfortable Tea-house.
This is the easy descend to Lukla but it is long day to get in Lukla. Start your trek earlier and enjoy the rest of time discovering. This is the last day of your dream, Everest Base Camp trek, enjoy your last day celibration with porter and guide, porter will be not together from next day.
Day 12: Fly Back to Kathmandu 1,400 m / 4,593 ft.
Early in the morning flight to Kathmandu and after getting in city Celebrate your accomplishment back in the city with a hot shower and relaxing day or shopping in Thamel.

Best Time for Everest Base Camp Trek
The best time for Everest base camp trek 2025 is Spring (March – May) and autumn (September – November) season. This season normally pleasant, clear and stable weather, so high chance to make success trek and best panoramic views from the top and Kalapathar.
Note: Avoid Monsoon (June–August) and peak winter (January–February) season because Monsoon is heavy rain and winter always very cold weather.
