Details Itinerary of Lower Dolpo trek:

 

Day – 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

When arrive at Kathmandu international airport, our team will pick up you and transfer to hotel where we or you booked.

Altitude: 1300 meters Kathmandu valley.

Distance / Time duration:  12-13 km from airport to Thamel about 30-minute drive to transfer hotel.

Food and drinks: Lunch and Dinner separate, and Breakfast included.

Accommodations: Star Level hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu.

Day – 02: Fly to Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.

The day start adventure journey to west part of Nepal Dolpo region. First step from Kathmandu flight to Nepalganj about 1 hour. Nepalganj is very hot place so, take a late afternoon flight and stay overnight in Nepalganj.

 

Altitude:150 meters Nepalganj from sea level.

Distance/ Time duration: flight about 55 minuets.

Elevation loss:1150 meters from Kathmandu.

Flights difficulty: Easy flight to Nepalganj.

Day – 03: Fly to Juphal and (2140 meters).

Early in the morning flight operate from Nepalganj to Juphal. So be sure that your flight is early in the morning. About 30 minutes flight to Juphal your trek start continues to Dunai.

 

Altitude: 2140 meters Dunai.

Distance/ Time duration: 11-12 Km. Take 4-5 hour walk.

Elevation gain: 1990 meters different from Nepalganj.

Trails difficulty: Small aircraft flight and easy roadway trek.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner provide.

Day – 04: Trek to Tarakot (2537 meters).

Start the trekking after the breakfast. Today easy to moderate trails about 6-7 hours walking to the destination.

 

Altitude: 2537 meters Tarakot.

Distance/ Time duration: 16 km. About 6-7 hours walking.

Elevation gain: 397 meters from Dunai.

Trails difficulty: Moderate pace throgh riverside trails.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner provide.

Accommodations: Tent with warm sleeping bag.

Highlights of the day: Riverside trails with cliff, beautiful Magar and Tarali village with their traditional.

Note: keep drinking water until lunch place, always use boiled water for your healthy tips.

 

 

Day – 05: Trek to Laina Odhar (3370 meters).

As usual start your trek after the breakfast and start another adventures to the deep gorges trails to Laina Odhar campsite.

 

Altitude: 3370 meters Laina Odhar.

Distance/ Time duration: 15-16 km, 6-7 hours to walk.

Elevation gain: 833 meters from Tarakot.

Trails difficulty: Moderate through the valley.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner.

Accommodations: Tent

Highlights of the day: suspension bridges, deep gorges valley and landscapes.

 

 

Day – 06: Trek to Nawarpani (3475 meters).

Today is gradually ascent high cliff and downhill. Deep gorges take you to the camp site in Nawarpani.

 

Altitude: 3475 meters Nawarpani.

Distance/ Time duration: 11 km about 5 hours walk.

Elevation gain: 105 meters from the laini Odhar.

Trails difficulty: Gradually ascent through big cliff.

Highlights of the day: Deep River gorge and high cliff and good for the acclimatization.

 

 

Day – 07: Trek to Dho Tarap (3944 meters).

Today is long and little harder day then last couple of days, so start your trek earlier. Today you are entering a wide valley and more nice views.

Altitude: 3944 Dho village.

Distance/ Time duration: 15-16 km, 6-7 hours walk.

Elevation gain: 564 meters from Nawarpani.

Trails difficulty: Moderate gradually ascent.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner provide.

Accommodations: Tent in Camp site.

Highlights of the day: Different from deep gorge to wide Tarap valley, Bonpo and Buddhist influences and beautiful Dho village with old monastery.

Day – 08: Trek to Numala base camp (4440 meters).

Today is high valley trails take you to the Numa-la base camp. Easy trail but in the high altitude make it challenging.

 

Altitude: 4440-meter Numa-la basecamp.

Distance/ Time duration: 10 km, about 5-6 hours walk.

Elevation gain: 476 meters from Dho village.

Trails difficulty: Moderate and flat ascent.

Day – 09: Trek to Bagala Base Camp (4560 meters).

Today is the key highlight of the Lower part of the Dolpo trek, it is challenging to cross over 5310m Numa-la. Wonderful views of snow-cover mountains make you forget what you make challenging to get in the top of Numa-la.

 

Altitude: 4560 meters Baga-la base camp (Pelung Tang).

Distance/ Time duration: 13-14 km, 7-8 hours walk.

Elevation gain: 870 meters ascent and 750 descent.

Trails difficulty: Challenging to ascent Numa-la pass 5310m.

Day – 10: Trek to Yak Kharka (3982 meters).

A day another adventure and challenging to get Yak Kharka over Baga-la 5170m. start early in the morning for nice view and avoid wind on the top of Baga-la.

 

Altitude: 3980 meters Yak Kharka.

Distance/ Time duration: 11-12 km, 6-7 hours walk.

Elevation gain: 610 meters ascent and 1190 meters descent.

Trails difficulty: Challenging to ascent Baga-la 5170m.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Pack Lunch and / Dinner.

Elevation descent: 250 meters from Yak kharka.

Trails difficulty: Moderate inside of bushes.

Day – 13: Trek to Chhepka (2838 meters).

Start trek descent to the valley through river gorge. All-most way down to the Chhekpa. Stay overnight here.

Elevation descent: About 900 meters from Ringmo village.

Trails difficulty: Easy descent with short ups and down.

Day – 14: Trek to Juphal (2475 meters).

Today is quit long distance trek, so start early in the morning and last day of the trek, after dinner celebrate last day after complete your Dolpo trekking. Next day you are flying to Nepalganj and Kathmandu.

 

Altitude: 2475 meters Juphal.

Distance/ Time duration: 20km, 6-7 hours walk.

Elevation Descent: 360 meters from Chhekpa.

Trails difficulty: Moderate descent and gentle ups and down.

Food and Drinks: Breakfast, / Pack Lunch, and /Dinner.

Accommodations: Tent camping.

Highlights of the day: Beautiful valleys, Sulighat river views.

 

 

Day – 15: Fly to Nepalganj and another flight to Kathmandu.

  • Day – 02: Fly to Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.

    The day start adventure journey to west part of Nepal Dolpo region. First step from Kathmandu flight to Nepalganj about 1 hour. Nepalganj is very hot place so, take a late afternoon flight and stay overnight in Nepalganj.

    Altitude: 150 meters Nepalganj from sea level.

    Distance/ Time duration: flight about 55 minuets.

    Elevation loss: 1150 meters from Kathmandu.

    Flights difficulty: Easy flight to Nepalganj.

    Food and Drinks: Not available.

    Accommodations: BB plan hotel with AC.

  • Day – 03: Fly to Juphal and (2140 meters).

    Early in the morning flight operate from Nepalganj to Juphal. So be sure that your flight is early in the morning. About 30 minutes flight to Juphal your trek start continue to Dunai.

    Altitude: 2140 meters Dunai.

    Distance/ Time duration: 11-12 Km. Take 4-5 hour walk.

    Elevation gain: 1990 meters different from Nepalganj.

    Trails difficulty: Small aircraft flight and easy road way trek.

    Food and Drinks:Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner provid.

    Accommodations: Tent with mete and sleeping bag.

    Highlights of the day: Small aircraft flying, Juphal airport, Dunai bazar and nice Thuli Bheri river valley.

    Note: keep drinking water with you, during the trails very less water source to refill.

  • Day – 04: Trek to Tarakot (2537 meters).

    Start the trekking after the breakfast. Today easy to moderate trails about 6-7 hours walking to the destination.

    Altitude: 2537 meters Tarakot.

    Distance/ Time duration: 16 km. About 6-7 hours walking.

    Elevation gain: 397 meters from Dunai.

    Trails difficulty: Moderate pace throgh riverside trails.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner provid.

    Accommodations: Tent with warm sleeping bag.

    Highlights of the day: Riverside trails with cliff, beautiful Magar and Tarali village with their traditional.

    Note: keep drinking water until lunch place, always use boiled water for your healthy tips.

  • Day – 05: Trek to Laina Odhar (3370 meters).

    As usual start your trek after the breakfast and start another adventures to the deep gorges trails to Laina Odhar camp-site.

    Altitude: 3370 meters Laina Odhar.

    Distance/ Time duration: 15-16 km, 6-7 hours to walk.

    Elevation gain: 833 meters from Tarakot.

    Trails difficulty: Moderate through the valley.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent

    Highlights of the day: suspension bridges, deep gorges valley and landscapes.

  • Day – 06: Trek to Nawarpani (3475 meters).

    Today is gradually ascent high cliff and downhill. Deep gorges takes you to the camp site in Nawarpani.

    Altitude: 3475 meters Nawarpani.

    Distance/ Time duration: 11 km about 5 hours walk.

    Elevation gain: 105 meters from the laini Odhar.

    Trails difficulty: Gradually ascent through big cliff.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast ? Lunch and /Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent, camping.

    Highlights of the day: Deep River gorge and high cliff and good for the acclimatization.

  • Day – 07: Trek to Dho Tarap (3944 meters).

    Today is long and little harder day then last couple of days, so start your trek earlier. Today you are entering a wide valley and more nice views.

    Altitude: 3944 Dho village.

    Distance/ Time duration: 15-16 km, 6-7 hours walk.

    Elevation gain: 564 meters from Nawarpani.

    Trails difficulty: Moderate gradually ascent.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner provide.

    Accommodations: Tent in Camp site.

    Highlights of the day: Different from deep gorge to wide Tarap valley, Bonpo and Buddhist influences and beautiful Dho village with old monastery.

    Note: start your trek early in the morning, keep drinking water, walk slowly to acclimatize.

     

  • Day – 08: Trek to Numala base camp (4440 meters).

    Today is high valley trails take you to the Numa-la base camp. Easy trail but in the high altitude make it challenging.

    Altitude: 4440 meter Numa-la basecamp.

    Distance/ Time duration: 10 km, about 5-6 hours walk.

    Elevation gain: 476 meters from Dho village.

    Trails difficulty: Moderate and flat ascent.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner provide.

    Accommodations: Tent in camp site.

    Highlights of the day: Passing beautiful wide valley, alpine yak pastures, possibility to capture Blue -ships, passing through beautiful village.

    Travel tip: high altitude, so walk slowly and drink a lot to avoid altitude-sickness.

  • Day – 09: Trek to Bagala Base Camp (4560 meters).

    Today is the key highlight of the Lower part of the Dolpo trek, it is challenging to cross over 5310m Numa-la. Wonderful views of snow-cover mountains make you forget what you make challenging to get in the top of Numa-la.

    Altitude: 4560 meters Baga-la base camp (Pelung Tang).

    Distance/ Time duration: 13-14 km, 7-8 hours walk.

    Elevation gain: 870 meters ascent and 750 descent.

    Trails difficulty: Challenging to ascent Numa-la pass 5310m.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast/ Pack lunch and / Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent in Camp Site.

    Highlights of the day: Walking on dark, highest altitude of the trek Numa-la 5310m, key highlight of the low Dolpo trek and wonderful Dhaulagiri and Api, Saipal Himalayan ranges.

    Note: Take enough drinking water, keep some chocolate bar or snacks for extra energy. It is challenging but wonderful views, walk slowly.

  • Day – 10: Trek to Yak Kharka (3982 meters).

    A day another adventure and challenging to get Yak Kharka over Baga-la 5170m. start early in the morning for nice view and avoid wind on the top of  Baga-la.

    Altitude: 3980 meters Yak Kharka.

    Distance/ Time duration: 11-12 km, 6-7 hours walk.

    Elevation gain: 610 meters ascent and 1190 meters descent.

    Trails difficulty: Challenging to ascent Baga-la 5170m.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Pack Lunch and / Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent in Camp site.

    Highlights of the day: Views from Baga-la top 5170m, dramatic alpine valleys, Yak pastures, high Himalayan ranges are the main highlights of the day.

    Note: Start another adventure early in the morning, keep enough water, keep some energy dry food and walk slowly.

  • Day – 11: Trek to Phoksundo Lake (3733 meters).

    Easy trails to Ringmo village, stay overnight near Phoksundo Lake, just front of your tent.

    Altitude: 3730 meters Phoksundo Lake.

    Distance/ Time duration: 11 km, 5-6 hours walk.

    Elevation descent: 250 meters from Yak kharka.

    Trails difficulty: Moderate inside of bushes.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner with tea coffee.

    Accommodations: Tent in camp dite.

  • Day – 12: Rest and Explore day.

    Today is easy day. After all and challenging day, relaxing day exploring the Ringmo village and Nepal’s deepest lake Phoksundo.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast/ Lunch and / Dinner.

    Highlights of the day: Exploring Phoksundo lake, Monastery, and Ringmo village are the main highlights of the day.

     

  • Day – 13: Trek to Chhepka (2838 meters).

    Start trek descent to the valley through river gorge. All-most way down to the Chhekpa. Stay overnight here.

    Altitude: 2835 meters Chhekpa.

    Distance/ Time duration: 16km, 6-7 hours walk.

    Elevation descent: About 900 meters from Ringmo village.

    Trails difficulty: Easy descent with short ups and down.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast / Lunch and / Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent camping.

    Highlights of the day: last views of Phoksundo lake and wonderful waterfall, beautiful forest trail and clean water river.

  • Day – 14: Trek to Juphal (2475 meters).

    Today is quit long distance trek, so start early in the morning and last day of the trek, after dinner celebrate last day after complete your Dolpo trekking. Next day you are flying to Nepalganj and Kathmandu.

    Altitude: 2475 meters Juphal.

    Distance/ Time duration: 20km, 6-7 hours walk.

    Elevation Descent: 360 meters from Chhekpa.

    Trails difficulty: Modarate descent and gentle ups and down.

    Food and Drinks: Breakfast,/ Pack Lunch, and /Dinner.

    Accommodations: Tent camping.

    Highlights of the day: Beautiful valleys, Sulighat river views.

  • Day – 15: Fly to Nepalganj and another flight to Kathmandu.

    Catch a early in the morning flight to Nepalganj and after that take another flight to Kathmandu. After that all free explore day in Kathmandu.

    Altitude: 150 meters Nepalganj and 1300m Kathmandu.

    Time duration: 30m to Nepalganj and a hour Ktm.
