Langtang Region Treks
Bill Tilman (1898–1977), the renowned British mountaineer and travel writer, referred to this Langtang region treks “one of the most beautiful valleys in the world.”
The majority of the locals in the Langtang region treks and Langtang Valley are of Tibetan descent, and history has it that a lama, or Tibetan Buddhist instructor, who was pursuing a straggling yak, was the one who originally found the valley. The Tibetan word “tang” means “follow,” whereas “lang” means “lama.”
The breathtaking view of the Langtang Lirung range is the high point of the Langtang Valley Trek. At 23,773 feet high, the name-brand mountain towers over the valley.
