Since we started Ascend Hikes, Shankar Rai has been one of the company’s most seasoned, skilled, professional and mellow trip guide in Nepal Himalayas. Since he was a little child in the Solukhumbu district, he has been active in trekking and tourism.
Shankar rai began his trekking career at the very bottom, as a porter, just like many other members of the Ascend Hikes family. He gained an understanding of what it needed to lead a trek on the trails. He developed into the trek leader who is always aware of the requirements of his team after years of expertise.
Shankar adds, in response to his experience, “I learned a lot on the way from the feedback of my clients or rather guests.” The company motto of Ascend Hikes, “Happiness is the key,” perfectly describes Shankar. Only happy people can make other people happy. We are amazed by his warm demeanor and kind and considerate approach to the AH team and customers.
