A requirement of experience for Annapurna circuits Trek:

The intermediate Annapurna Circuit trek is appropriate for enthusiastic hikers who can walk for at least five to seven hours a day while wearing a light daypack. It is a good idea to increase our strength and stability a few weeks before the trip by working out and running on a regular basis. While prior hiking experience would be beneficial, this excursion does not require any technical expertise.

Altitude sickness:

Every trek that Ascend Hikes plans take altitude sickness, or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) seriously into consideration. A medical condition that is potentially fatal is brought on by ascending at a higher altitude too quickly. We are aware that planning enough time for acclimatization is crucial to ensuring a safe trek. Therefore, prudent planning is necessary to reduce the chance of AMS. The itinerary for Ascend Hikes is created to minimize the risk of AMS. However, it’s crucial to keep in mind that certain guests are more exposed than others. Throughout the entire journey, your guides and porters will do every effort to provide you with support. For further information about altitude sickness click here….

Weather conditions in Annapurna Circuit:

The Annapurna Circuit is open for trekking all year, but the experience varies greatly based to the season. Nepal has four seasons that are separate.

Let’s explore what makes each season special.

  • Summer/Monsoon Season (June-August)

  • Autumn Season (September–November)

  • Winter Season (December – February).

  • Spring Season (March – May)

Spring (March – May):

The Spring Season: Spring is regarded as one of the best seasons for trekking the Annapurna Circuit. The weather is stable, the trails are brimming with blooming rhododendrons, and the views are stunning.

  • Comfortable temperatures
  • Flowers and greenery add vibrancy to the landscape.
  • Clear skies are ideal for photography.
  • Excellent for experiencing the beauty of the Annapurna range.
  • Ideal views of Panoramic mountains
  • Trails can become crowded because of the growing popularity of the season.

Many hikers prefer spring because of the pleasant weather and scenic beauty. It’s especially appealing to those who want to explore nature’s most vibrant side.

Summer/Monsoon Season (June-August):

The summer season: Summer in Nepal coincides with the monsoon season, making it the least popular time for trekking. Heavy rainfall can result in slick trails, landslides, and leech infestations. However, it is not without its appeal.

  • Beautiful green valleys and thriving forests.
  • Less noisy trails with less hikers.
  • Discounts on accommodation and trekking services.
  • There is a risk of landslides and flooding.
  • Clouds and rain cause limited visibility.
  • Weather is humid at lower elevations.

If you’re an adventurous trekker willing to brave the rain, the monsoon season provides solitude and a unique perspective on the Annapurna area. However, it is critical to be well-prepared for unexpected weather conditions.

Autumn Season (September–November):

The autumn season: Autumn is widely regarded as the best season to trek the Annapurna Circuit. The post-monsoon season brings consistent weather, clear skies, and breathtaking mountain views.

  • Excellent trekking weather
  • Excellent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
  • Festivals such as Dashain and Tihar offer vibrant cultural experiences.
  • Trails are often crowded, particularly in October.
  • Due to high demand, accommodation prices may rise.

For most hikers, autumn is outstanding. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a first-time trekker, this season offers the perfect mix of weather, scenery, and cultural experiences.

Winter Season (December – February):

The winter season: Winter trekking is great for those who enjoy solitude and can tolerate cold. While lower altitudes are manageable, higher regions, such as Thorong La Pass, can be extremely cold and snowy in Annapurna circuits trek.

  • Peaceful trails with less trekkers.
  • Clear skies allow for incredible panoramic views.
  • The snow-covered landscape provides a one-of-a-kind, serene experience.
  • Extremely low temperatures, particularly above 3,000 meters.
  • Some high passes may be closed due to snowfall.
  • Trekking requires shorter daylight hours.
Winter is ideal for experienced trekkers looking to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful journey. Make sure you pack appropriate cold-weather gear.

Road conditions on the trails:

Until now, the route from Kathamdnu to Besisahar is concriet and simple to access, and the road from Besisahar to Dharapani is rough, with numerous bumps, but stunning waterfalls and landscapes keep you wanting to view nature.
The route from Muktinath to Beni is equally rough and bumpy, but Kaligandaki valley and the deepest canyon are the primary attractions, and the Rupse waterfalls will wake you up. The roads from Beni to Pokhara and Pokhara to Kathmandu are in decent condition.
